2021 Southport Festival of Croquet

Calling all AC Players

A reminder that if you would like to play for Chester at AC in the Southport Festival and you haven’t yet replied I’d love to hear from you!

It’s happening on Saturday and Sunday,  14-15 August, and you can play either on a single day or on both days; and chose which event is for you.

The following AC events are being played:

    1. Handicap AC: Teams of 3 players playing 18-point games with adjusted full handicaps played to a base of 6
    2. Short lawn AC: Teams of 3 playing 14 point games played with gross handicaps (i.e. no base)
    3. Advanced rules AC: Teams of 2 players playing all-play-all events comprising both singles and doubles games

Once I have the list of people I’ll organise the teams to represent Chester at the Festival.

Thanks

Calling all GC players

Don’t miss the chance to play at Southport this year.  It is later than usual due to COVID, but will be just as much fun in August as in June !

For those of you who have never been before, this is a really good opportunity to meet and play against a wide variety of players from other clubs in the region.  The lawns are good and there are a lot of them,  the location is great  and the food is usually excellent !

Robin Tasker has circulated an e-mail giving basic information, and I am now on the hunt for people specifically wanting to play GC, either on Saturday or Sunday, or both.  Once we know who is interested we can start to put together the Handicap and Level Play teams for the weekend, and discuss travel arrangements with you.

So ….please let me know asap !

In anticipation
