Match results 27, 29, 30 June 2019

A gorgeous sunny day on Thursday 27th June saw Chester Centurions play Pendle at home in the North West level play golf league. The Chester team of David Crawford (captain), Trevor Farrell and Mark Lloyd beat Pendle by 10-8 in a very closely fought match. Chester Centurions are defending their title won last year.

At Southport the UK’s largest festival of croquet took place on the weekend of 29th and 30th June,. Chester fielded teams in all of the competitions and the short lawn team were the overall winners in their section. The short lawn team of Helen Brophy, Pat Wheeler, Robert Jones and Roger Edwards had some very impressive wins in the hard fought competition. The full lawn team were not as successful, but nevertheless had a good competition.

Chester player John Dawson competed at the English Veteran’s AC handicap national championship at Budleigh Salterton where he won the trophy, winning 6 out of 7 games.
