We are planning to run taster and beginners sessions for newcomers to croquet in 2021 together with various coaching sessions to help members improve their play. Because of continuing coronavirus restrictions and uncertainties as to when they may be relaxed, dates are inevitably subject to change. Further details will be posted as plans develop.
AC Improvement Course – Weekly 4 May to 8 June 2021
A six week course at 6.30 to 8.30 pm on Tuesday evenings is being held from 4 May to 8 June.
The sessions are aimed at members who are already comfortable getting around a short- or full- lawn but are ready to expand their skills and tactical game. It’s planned to be steadily challenging over the weeks but attainable and most of all fun. Click here for the full programme.
If you’re just starting out playing AC either coming at it from GC or as a complete beginner then this might not yet be for you. However, some one-to-one sessions are being organised in the coming weeks tailored specifically to get you up and running playing AC.
If you’re planing to attend please do just turn up on the evening ready for action.. But please remember that throughout we must remain Covid-secure..

Taster Days – 17, 23 & 25 April 2021
Our next taster days for newcomers who would like to try their hand at croquet are currently being planned for Saturday, 17 April, Friday 23 April, and Sunday, 25 April.
Croquet offers an interesting outdoor activity in the summer months, friendships, fun, competition and a whole lot more. It is a game of skill and strategy, angles, tactics and guile. Moreover, it doesn’t need strength and the handicap system allows people to play successfully at all levels. Interested to find out more? Or have enjoyed garden croquet? Or have played before but a long time ago? Come along to our taster session to learn all about the game and be introduced to one of the most friendly clubs in the northwest based in Westminster Park. More details will be available nearer the time but, in the meantime, if you would like more information or to book a place, please contact our Publicity and New Members Secretary, Sally Slater, at springboard_sally@hotmail.com or on 01244 677645. Click here to download a leaflet for reference and to pass on to friends.
